I won't say I did not try , but after some time it has become clear to me that Apo writes what it wants, not what I'd want! And maybe what it's actually writing is "Hehe keep trying, you don't have a chance"!
That's a shared impression! When you try to move something in a direction, you often have the feeling some kind of malicious spirit doesn't agree with you at all, and does all it can to pull it to the other side of the pic!
That's why I often compare making fractals to sculpture or pottery (you have to work with physical or maths constraints), rather than drawing or painting (where you can put a line or color exactly where you want to).
I'd like to but no, the only other artistic activity I have is music. I used to play the piano (I have a jazz "formation"), but now I'm lacking some free time... Fractals are a kind of revenge, as I'm unable to draw anything acceptable on a sheet of paper!
I have discovered new "ways" to make tubes recently and I'm trying different things, hopefully you will see more in my next fractals... There is no popcorn in this one but indeed another underused variation (and julian as you guessed). Well maybe after some time and more tests I'll have to update my tutorial...
